Taylor will not helm New Line's 'Tammy'
"The Help" director Tate Taylor has decided against helming "Tammy," the road trip comedy its develping for Melissa McCarthy.New Line confirmed Taylor's departure Friday. Taylor had been in talks to come on to the project last month.New Line's been developing "Tammy" with the "Bridesmaids" thesp as a possible starring vehicle from her spec script, co-written with Ben Falcone.The script centers on a woman who loses her job at Hardee's, then finds out that her husband is cheating on her and goes on a trip with her foul-mouthed grandmother. McCarthy and Falcone will also exec produce "Tammy."McCarthy won an Emmy in September for CBS's "Mike & Molly" and will appear Judd Apatow's tentatively titled "This is Forty" for Universal.Taylor is repped by WME.
